Glen Powell went Instagram official with Michelle Randolph in a Fourth of July photo dump

The 'Landman' star and the 'Twisters' actor had been a sightings-only rumor since a late-night two-step in Austin. On July 7 he settled it with a black-and-white kiss and a two-word caption.

Glen Powell spent about eight months letting the internet handle his relationship announcements for him. On Monday, July 7, he took the job back.

The "Twisters" star dropped a Fourth of July photo dump on Instagram, and tucked inside the roughly 20 pictures was the one everybody screenshotted: a black-and-white shot of Powell kissing actress Michelle Randolph. His caption, in full, read "Hell of a Fourth." That was the whole statement. No hard-launch paragraph, no tagged sponsor, just the kiss and a two-word shrug. E! News called it a "hard launch," and for once the label earns it.

The receipts

The post also included a solo shot of Randolph mid-dance, per People, so nobody had to guess who the mystery kiss was. Randolph, 28, is one of the stars of Taylor Sheridan's oil-country drama "Landman" on Paramount+. Powell is 37.

A timeline built entirely out of sightings

These two have been a running tab item since late last year. The origin story, as told across the entertainment outlets covering it: Powell and Randolph were spotted swaying on the dance floor at Austin's Broken Spoke, the 37-year-old leading the 28-year-old through a two-step. From there the sightings piled up. TMZ reports the pair were photographed getting cozy in New York City before Monday's post made it official. So the "are they or aren't they" question had an answer for a while. Powell just declined to sign it until now.

The Fourth was a family affair

This was not a two-person hang. According to People, the Texas gathering pulled in Randolph's sister, "Bachelor" alum Cassie Randolph, and her husband Brighton Reinhardt, plus brother Landon Randolph and his girlfriend Saige Davis. Powell brought his own bench: sisters Lauren and Leslie and mom Cyndy were there too. Meeting the family and the ex-"Bachelor" sister in one holiday weekend is a pace.

For a guy whose last few press cycles were about box office and casting news, a black-and-white kiss and "Hell of a Fourth" is a refreshingly low-effort way to answer the only question the group chat actually had.
