Invincible VS adds Universa and The Immortal on June 30 to open its first DLC season

June 28, 2026Skybound Games and developer Quarter Up have locked June 30 for the first paid characters in Invincible VS, with Universa and The Immortal arriving together to kick off the game's Season 1.
The two fighters are the headline. The update wrapped around them is the part worth reading. Quarter Up is shipping them next to a new Endless Arcade mode, lobby changes, and a balance pass, and it put out a roadmap that runs through December. That is more than most licensed fighters bother to share this early in their life.
What June 30 actually adds
The Immortal got his gameplay trailer on June 23, and he plays about how the comic reads. The first thing the trailer shows is him pulling himself back together after a knockout, which points to a self-revive he can use once before he stops getting back up. Past that he looks like a straightforward rushdown character, with a multi-directional charge special for closing distance and starting combos and what reads as an uppercut for close range. Quarter Up also handed him an Abraham Lincoln skin, a wink at the character's backstory as a man who has quietly been around for most of human history.
Universa, shown a few days earlier on June 18, is the more technical of the pair. Her kit runs on a Boost Meter that makes her stronger as it fills, and she can siphon Boost off the opponent to weaken them while she powers up. Stealing a resource like that usually rewards players who already understand the matchup, so she looks like the harder character to pick up cold.
Trailers are trailers, so treat the specifics as a preview and not a final read. Anyone at Evo Las Vegas this weekend can get a real answer before launch. Quarter Up is on the floor June 26 through 28 as an official tournament partner with both characters playable.
The plan for the rest of the year
The roadmap maps out two more seasons after this one. Season 2 comes in October with a third DLC fighter, another playable mode, fresh cosmetics, and quality-of-life fixes. Season 3 follows in December with a fourth character, more cosmetics, a new arena, and more of those fixes, plus two smaller patches to fill the stretch between the big drops. Quarter Up also marked where the major tournaments land on that calendar, a clear sign it wants Invincible VS taken seriously as a competitive game rather than a one-and-done show tie-in.
Four characters and steady mode additions across a first year is a fair pace for a fighter this size. Whether it holds up comes down to how the new fighters feel once people have had them in hand for longer than a convention weekend.
