Future's 'The Real Me' arrives July 10, his first solo studio album since 2022

Twenty-two tracks, lead single 'Radio,' and a characteristically modest pitch: Future is calling it the 'Album of the Century.'

Future finally put a date on it. "The Real Me," his tenth studio album, lands July 10 through Freebandz and Epic, and it is his first solo studio album since "I Never Liked You" in 2022.

He announced the date on June 25 with the restraint fans have come to expect, calling it the "Album of the Century." A day later he dropped the lead single and video "Radio," which sits at track 11 on a 22-song record.

The gap that wasn't really a gap

Four years is a long time to call silence, and Future has been anything but quiet. In 2024 he put out two joint albums with Metro Boomin, "We Don't Trust You" and "We Still Don't Trust You," then followed them with "Mixtape Pluto" later that year. What he hasn't done since 2022 is release a solo studio album with only his name on the marquee. "The Real Me" is that record, and the title plays like an answer to a stretch defined by collaborations and guest verses.

What we actually know

The confirmed details are thin, and that seems deliberate. The album runs 22 tracks. "Radio" is the only single so far, out June 26 with a video, slotted at track 11 rather than up front. The full tracklist isn't out yet, and the guest list is still rumor, so anyone promising you a specific feature is guessing. Epic and Freebandz are handling the release.

Twenty-two tracks is a lot of runway. Future's strongest solo work tends to be mood-locked and front-loaded, and his weaker records are the ones where the runtime outlasts the idea. "I Never Liked You" made 16 tracks feel like a statement. Whether 22 is a full body of work or a streaming-era pile is the open question on this one.

Where it lands

Future doesn't need this album to prove he can make hits. The Metro Boomin run in 2024 was a commercial event by itself. What a solo record gives him is room to answer the question the title poses, and to remind everyone that the sound a decade of rappers spent chasing started with him. July 10 is the test.
