Beyoncé cut Jay-Z's hair on the Yankee Stadium jumbotron before he rapped a single bar

Night one of the 'Reasonable Doubt' 30th anniversary run had a haircut, a Mary J. Blige fill-in and Blue Ivy on piano. Night two had Eminem and a brawl in the stands.

Jay-Z opened the first of three Yankee Stadium shows on Friday night by sitting still while his wife took clippers to his head. The footage ran on the big screen before he walked out, and the crowd got a full haircut before it got a single bar. Beyoncé, the barber. The Bronx, the shop.

The occasion is 30 years of "Reasonable Doubt," Jay-Z's 1996 debut, and Roc Nation announced the run back in March as a double milestone: the debut's 30th and "The Blueprint" turning 25. Three nights, Friday through Sunday, the last one an "Extra Innings" show that mashes both together.

The haircut, and what the internet did with it

TMZ posted the clip of the trim and reported that fans online read the fresh buzz as a sign new music is coming. That is fan math, not an announcement, and nobody in the Carter camp has said anything of the sort. Still, it is a very Beyoncé move to turn a grooming appointment into a plot point.

Then she actually sang

Beyoncé did not stop at the clippers. She opened the show proper by taking Mary J. Blige's hook on "Can't Knock the Hustle," in a pinstriped Yankees jersey, per Variety and Rolling Stone. Before she left, per TMZ, she told the crowd to "give it up for my baby."

And then Blue Ivy Carter, 14, came out for "Feelin' It" and played the piano part herself. Fan video of the moment went around all weekend. Her father hugged her at the end.

The rest of the guest list was not exactly thin. Variety counted Nas, Alicia Keys and Jaz-O among the people Jay pulled onstage across the night, which is a decent way to spend an evening if you like watching decades-old beef stay buried.

Night two: Eminem, Alicia Keys, and a fistfight

Saturday was "The Blueprint" night. Eminem turned up. Alicia Keys came back out for "Empire State of Mind." Also, according to TMZ, which obtained video, two fans got into it with security during that song. One of them punched a guard in the face and was hauled off. TMZ's sources say the whole thing started over the men sitting in seats that were not theirs and blocking the view behind them.

That is the version TMZ reported, sourced to people it did not name. The Yankees and Roc Nation have not put out a statement about it, and no arrests have been announced that we have seen.

The celebrity count for the weekend so far, per TMZ: Fat Joe, LeBron James, Megan Thee Stallion, Kevin Hart, Ice Spice, DJ Khaled, Jadakiss and Knicks finals hero OG Anunoby.

Night three is tonight.
