Maggie Sajak says her Savannah Bananas boyfriend will “crush it” on Dancing With the Stars
The Wheel of Fortune scion used an ESPYs red carpet to hype Jackson Olson, the Banana Ball second baseman who TikToked his way onto season 35.

July 16, 2026Maggie Sajak spent Tuesday night at the ESPYs doing what a good sports girlfriend does, which is talk up her guy to anyone holding a microphone.
Standing on the Lincoln Center red carpet on July 15, the daughter of former Wheel of Fortune host Pat Sajak told USA Sports' Renee Montgomery that her boyfriend, Savannah Bananas second baseman Jackson Olson, is ready for his next arena. "He crushes everything he sets his mind to," she said. "I'm excited to see him crush it in the ballroom."
The ballroom in question is Dancing With the Stars, which named Olson a season 35 cast member back on May 12 during the Disney Upfronts. For anyone who doesn't follow Banana Ball: Olson plays for the Savannah Bananas, the Georgia exhibition team that turned baseball into a choreographed circus of dance breaks and trick plays in front of sold-out stadiums. A guy from that roster landing on DWTS is less a plot twist than a logical next step.
He says he manifested it
Olson is not shy about how badly he wanted this. The day after his casting went public, he told Good Morning America that dancing was a late discovery. "When I was a kid, I never thought any of this was possible," he said. "I was a shy kid that never danced, never put myself out there, never entertained, and found a passion for it." He also copped to "kind of" manifesting the whole thing, pointing to a run of TikToks he had posted about wanting a spot on the show.
Sajak was in his corner from the jump. When the news broke, she wrote on her Instagram Stories, "beyond proud of you @jacksonolson_...the dance floor better get ready." The two hard launched their relationship on Instagram in April, so by ESPYs season the couple thing was old news.
Who else is in the season 35 ballroom
Olson is the third of four names ABC has let out so far. The first two, announced in April, came straight from reality TV: Ciara Miller of Bravo's Summer House and The Traitors, and Maura Higgins, the Love Island finalist and Traitors runner-up. The fourth, revealed on the June 17 Jimmy Kimmel Live!, is Guillermo Rodriguez, Kimmel's longtime sidekick.
Both women are already lobbying for partners. Miller has been campaigning for Val Chmerkovskiy. Higgins wants Mark Ballas, her former Traitors castmate, telling Good Morning America it "would be the cherry on top of the cake" to win the Mirrorball with him.
The rest of the celebrities and their pro partners get revealed on Good Morning America in September, with host Julianne Hough back again. Until then, Sajak will keep doing red carpet victory laps for a season that has not started, and Olson will keep telling everyone he saw it coming.
